Read this before you buy

SeaVac is a dry vacuum.

It is built for the dry dirt a cabin collects — sand, crumbs, dust, hair, lint — and nothing wet.

  • Cabin use only. Use it inside the dry, enclosed part of the boat.
  • Mount the power unit in a dry compartment, away from spray, bilge water and any hatch or locker that takes water.
  • Never vacuum water — no bilge water, standing water, spills, wet sand, damp carpet or anything wet.
  • For wet pickup, use a machine built for wet pickup. A SeaVac is not one.

VacPort®

Sweep the sand straight in.

A VacPort takes the place of a dust pan. It is a small door set low in a cabinet or toe kick: open it and the vacuum starts, sweep the dirt in, and it travels down the pipe to the dust bag. The hose does not plug into a VacPort — that is what the inlet valve is for.

VacPorts work on the piped SeaVacs: the Mini Pro, the Ultra and the Ultra Max. They do not work on the Mini, where the inlet is built into the unit.

Any 32 mm kit fits every SeaVac.

Hose, wand and tools are not model-specific. If your boat came with the vacuum but no hose or tools, nothing is wrong — the kit is sold separately, and every kit here fits.

Mini: Y10-5. Mini Pro: Y11-5. Ultra and older SeaVacs: Y08-5. Ultra Max: Y09-5. They look alike on a shelf and none of them seals in another model.

Before you buy

Can a SeaVac pick up water?

No. Every SeaVac is a dry vacuum. It is for the dry dirt in a cabin — sand, crumbs, dust and hair. Never use it on bilge water, spills, wet sand, damp carpet or anything wet, and mount the power unit in a dry compartment.

What size boat is SeaVac for?

Cabin boats under 30 feet. The Mini and Mini Pro are rated to about 900 sq. ft. and the Ultra to about 1,500 sq. ft., so coverage is never the limit in a cabin that size — the choice is about where the unit goes and whether you want a VacPort.

What power does a SeaVac need?

AC power: the Mini and Mini Pro run on 110V (220V available, 240V single phase on request) and draw 12A at 60Hz. The Ultra runs on 120V and draws 10A. Aboard, that means shore power, a generator, or an inverter that can carry the load.

What is the difference between an inlet valve and a VacPort?

An inlet valve is where the hose plugs in. A VacPort replaces the dust pan: open its door low in the cabinet and the vacuum starts, then sweep the dirt straight in. Both work only on piped models — the Mini Pro, Ultra and Ultra Max.

I have an older SeaVac. Which bag fits it?

InterVac sold an earlier SeaVac that was the same unit as the InterVac RM. It takes the Y08-5 bag, the same bag as today’s SeaVac Ultra. If the bag collar reads something else, email us a photo of it.
